DESCRIPTION:7 pm, Monday, 2 October 2023 / Introductory Talk\n7 pm, Tuesday, 3 October 2023 / Follow-on Discussion\n\n An in-person event only. \nA two-part workshop with Christopher Houghton Budd,\nEconomic and monetary historian, participant in the Circle of Treasurers,\nboard member of the Goetheanum Fund Worldwide.\nSponsored by the Economics Group of the Anthroposophical Society in America\n\nOne hundred years ago in the run up to Christmas, Rudolf Steiner encouraged the\nformation of country societies, out of which the General Society was born. As\nprompted by Peter Selg,* this is the centenary event we should first be\ncelebrating. Not only celebrating, but reiterating, starting over in terms of current\nrealities, especially as regards the outer skin of our will and karma – our finances.\nIntended to ask what is the role of Country Groups in our time and of the\nAnthroposophical Society in America in particular, this is part of a tour of its\nBranches to commemorate the 1923 founding of Country Societies prior to the\nrefounding of the Anthroposophical Society.\nKey themes include:\nThe first one hundred years\nTwo bodies that a third may be\nThe Wild, Willed West!
