Harald Hoven has been professionally active as a biodynamic farmer and vegetable grower for about 40 years. A native of Germany, he earned his national certification as a professional farmer there before moving to the United States in 1983. Harald founded and directed Raphael Garden at Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, CA from 1987 to 2017. This three acre biodynamic urban farm became a model education center on the West Coast, run according to the highest biodynamic standards, being Demeter certified. Drawing on his decades of experience, he now offers training, education, mentoring, and consulting services to farmers and gardeners nationally and internationally.
