Talk – Karma in the 21st Century: Two Streams
John Petering
In Person 7 pm at 10030 Fair Oaks Blvd

John Petering, has wrestled with Rudolf Steiner’s work since he met anthroposophy at age 24, when he picked up a hitchhiker on a road trip in the hills of Virginia. He is a member of the Anthroposophical Society in America (US) and the First Class since 1984. He has worked in 4 Waldorf schools for over 30 years (retired), striving to bring a renewed phenomena-based science to young people. Along this journey ‘how to live out of Anthroposophy in challenging Times” , he discovered the work of the Dutch Anthroposophist Hans Peter van Manen, “Twin Roads on the Threshold of the New Millenium”.
We will follow him deep into Steiner’s Karma Lectures, and explore novel insights into the karmic streams, especially about those connected to Anthroposophy. With poignant indications like “the very understanding of these things, gives rise to the impulse to return to the earth in less than a century, in order to give effect to the intent and purpose of Anthroposophy” [Torquay 14-Aug-1924 CW240]; and, “…human beings of the 20th century must not throw away their opportunity … whether the two allied groups will descend for the re-spiritualization of culture in the 20th century” … “that things be so taken up that the Anthroposophical Movement blossoms more and more.” [18-Jun-1924 CW240a].
Perhaps these karmic insights can guide us to fulfill the possibilities that are in front of us.
